Cobra PX650 Two-Way Radio (FRS, 22 Channels, Privacy Codes, Rechargeable)

Used these on a camping trip and they lasted all weekend on a single charge. The range is excellent in open areas, and the privacy codes keep out other groups. The display is easy to read. Excellent value.

We bought these for hiking. They're lightweight and comfortable to hold. The VOX feature is handy, but it picks up wind noise sometimes. Overall, a solid choice.
